I was a barista and coffee master for four years, but I never got the chance to attend the London Coffee festival because of the hours I worked. So when Currys PC World offered tickets that coincided with my day off I jumped on the chance.

Even though I left Starbucks a few years ago now, I still get really excited for new promo days, especially the Christmas one. I love seeing the designs and the marketing, as well as all the new merchandise that I don’t need to buy, but probably will! Whilst all the baristas I know will be sick of the Christmas music by the first week of December, I do love the little blast of Christmas you get for a few minutes a day on the lead up to the main event.

I mean it smells, you’re stuck uncomfortably close to complete strangers, then at the end of the journey you are herded off and follow each other like sheep down endless corridors and up escalators until….
I got my first Nespresso machine when I was in halls at university. I bought a bright red Citz+Milk that lived in my tiny room the whole year. I had a constant supply of coffee during those all nighters in which I would try and finish a 5000 word essay the day before it was due. Even thought I spent near to £200, my reasoning was that I would spend less on takeaway coffee, and that when I moved back to Norfolk over the summer months I would be able to have good coffee whilst in the middle of nowhere.
No. Seriously.
The nearest place to get coffee where my parents live is at least 7 miles away.
