It’s here, my favourite time of year. Out of all the seasons I am most definitely an Autumn/Winter girl. I enjoy the heat of summer, as long as I can find air con. But my main Summer foe is heyfever. It comes and goes in waves over the Spring/Summer seasons and I am always on edge that something is going to trigger it and I’ll look like I am crying all day. Autumn is all about sunshine and dewy foggy mornings, of crunchy leaves and the smell of bonfires. I can’t wait!
I have picked up these questions from a mixture of blog posts I have read over the last few weeks and thought today would be the day to answer them, So lets go!
What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

Layers. When the day could be quite warm but the morning starts with a bite I love layering up in cardigans and jumpers. This is always a good excuse for me to go shopping too, as I wear them so much that they tend to get ratty so each season I sadly have to go to buy new ones. This year I am looking at GAP and H&M for my fix!
What is the worst thing about Autumn?

Soggy trouser bottoms and wet converse!
I am only 5ft3 so a lot of my trousers are a tad on the long size, combine this with canvas shoes and you get VERY wet feet whilst husky walking in the morning!
Favourite Autumn movie?
My favourite has to be Hocus Pocus. I know this could go in a Halloween tag, but Hocus Pocus still means Autumn to me.
Favourite Drink?

I worked at Starbucks for four years, but we only got Pumpkin Spiced Latte for the first time last year, and initially I really REALLY disliked it. But then I customised my recipe and now have it with soya milk and now I love it.
Favourite Scent?

Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay, which really reminds me of my childhood in Norfolk. Whilst this particular scent does not linger on my skin very well, I always spritz it on my jumpers and scarves, which makes snuggling up in these extra Autumnal.
What is your favourite Autumn treat?

Apart from the occasional PSL, in autumn I always fall back in love with porridge. Random, I know. But when I have walked the dog and been to the gym whilst the sun is still rising, there is something really comforting about coming home and eating a big bowl of porridge with jam, or honey and cinnamon.
What is your Favourite place to be?

Norfolk is a spectacular place to be in the Autumn. When all the leaves are on the turn, and the fog really early in the morning roles across the flat fields, it’s very special. This was always my favourite time of year to be walking to work. My Dad lives in a small village, and growing up I worked in a hotel about a mile away. During the autumn I really enjoyed the walk to and from work a lot more than the actual job 🙂
What changes do you make to your skincare routine?

This Summer I have been using The Body Shop Vitamin E Sorbet, but already I have begun to notice that this isn’t moisturising enough for the colder weather. If anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear them, to save me from a few hours research. (who am I kidding, I love doing research!)
So that’s that!
Leave me a link below if you do it, or have done something similar. I love reading these posts!
Much Love

  1. Autumn is a great time when the weather is autumn-like. In Los Angeles where I am, Autumn is mostly like an extension of summer with sometimes cooler temperatures. This year we're having record breaking heat even into October. Yuk!

  2. I can imagine! Who'd think people want summer to end. I feel the same about our winters. Winters in the UK are just wet. We barely get any snow in London, so when I see pictures of people wrapped up warm playing in the snow I get very jealous!
