Book Review: The Ick Factor (Seasons of Revenge series) Morgan Elizabeth *****

5 Stars- the whole series is 5 stars.

I received this book as an eARC copy in return for an honest review… but I have previously purchased or KU’d the rest of the series with my own money.

I’m so sad to be saying goodbye to this Seasons of Revenge series. This was the perfect end, with all the tropes we have come to know and love… fake engagement. Workplace romance. Grumpy sunshine. REVENGE. And the found family that this series has had from page one of book one.

Kat and Theo have such a fun relationship. Kat is his executive assistant, who he truly could not function without. (It gave me massive Donna vibes from Suits.) Early on in the story the rug gets pulled out from under his feet, and he does what any rom-com MMC does, makes up a fake fiancé…. Now just to find one.

But Kat, our strong, feisty and relatable FMC, being the brilliant assistant she is, susses out something is afoot, and so begins our final tale of revenge.

The fake fiancé aspect of this book is a delight to read. I’d say they fall so fast, but I think it’s safe to say they’d fallen a long time ago, and this is just the wake up call they needed.

I won’t say much more as the revenge filled twists and turns are page turning, and the romance (and spice) are everything that I love Morgan Elizabeth for.

If you haven’t read any of this series, I really would recommend heading back to the start and reading them in order. Whilst there is no overarching plot across them all, I adore the found family/reoccurring characters and it adds so much.

I cannot wait to see where the author goes next… although I would not say no to returning to this world in the future.

As I said above… I received this eARC in return for an honest review, all opinions are honest and my own.

Book description….

Kat has never been on more than seven dates with a man before catching the dreaded ick. That’s all it takes to realize he’s not the one for her. It’s usually something small—the way he puts ice in his cup, drinks his coffee, or his preferred name in the bedroom, but it’s enough to make her realize she could never spend an eternity with him.

Theodore is ready to take over the company his father left for him. He’s spent his entire life working towards the moment when he becomes president, every waking moment dedicated to that goal. Unfortunately, his family man boss isn’t too keen on his strictly single ways and worries if he gets this job, he’ll never start a family. That’s when he lies and tells his boss he has a fiance.

Now, he not only has to prove he deserves the job, despite his rival doing everything he can to sabotage him, but he has to find himself a fiance—and fast.

It’s good that his sunshine assistant has an open schedule and can promise a no-strings deal. Seven dates to impress his boss and take down his rival with zero risk that she’ll fall for him.

But what if this is the one time the ick factor fails her?
