Book Review- The Perfect Mistake- Olivia Hayle ****

The Perfect Mistake is book 2 in the Connovan Chronicles and is a touching romantic read with laughs, spice and has made me want to go to the ballet again.

Synopsis from Olivia Hayles website.

Hiring my little sister’s best friend as the new nanny for my kids? Big mistake.

Isabel is fifteen years too young, too kind, and far too attractive for this to be anything but a problem. Nannying requires her to move in, living close enough to reach out and grab… Not that I would. I’m old enough to know better.

She’s a professional ballerina recovering from an injury, and I’m the CEO of a multibillion-dollar conglomerate. She needs a job. I need a nanny. It’s a simple win-win.

Wrong. It’s sheer torture. Coming home late to find her curled up on the couch. To see her smile at me and ask how my day was. She’s beautiful, and always around, and the thoughts I’m having soon turn inappropriate.

But that life is behind me. My wife died years ago, and I can’t handle another relationship. Can’t handle the complications, the feelings, or the inevitable pain.

Even if Isabel is a temptation too sweet to resist. Kissing her is addictive… and soon I can’t keep my hands to myself or stay on my side of the penthouse.

It’s easy to forget things like age gaps and fears in the heat of passion.
But us together is a mistake… even if it quickly becomes my favorite one.”

Isabel is a strong determined woman that we got to know a little in glimpses in book 1- Best Enemies Forever. Her passion is palpable, her love of dance is so well written. Her personal journey in TPM is realistic, complicated and such a page turner. Hayle writes such interesting FMC’s and Isabel is someone I am looking forward to seeing more glimpses of in the third book.

It was nice to learn more about Alex, after seeing him stick up for his family in book 1. Seeing him fall for Isabel is really heartwarming. His strong morals and his love for his family never change, and makes his relationship with Isabel really touching as he listens to her, sees her journey and grows himself.

Olivia Hayle is now an auto read author for me, and I’m slowly working my way through her earlier works.

Thank you Olivia for an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own honest opinions.
